LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting is popping up in the most unlikely of places these days. While it’s gaining in popularity as a low-cost, low-power consumption and colourfully versatile home lighting technology, it’s also finding its way into other devices. Like taps.
Italian company Equa has found a cunning use for LEDs in its new range of faucets, called Light Delight. Inside the spout is a series of coloured LEDs that beam their light through the stream of water, lending it an eerie glow. But that’s not all, the light actually changes colour as the water temperature rises, going from a cool blue to a scalding red.
