Sure, we can now carry our tunes with us in our iPod, but we can no longer share them with those nearby like we did back in the 1980s. Well, the boombox is back, care of the Altec Lansing iM7.
Just slot your third generation (or above) iPod or iPod mini into the back of this unit, and you have a portable stereo system. It runs from batteries, so you can lug it around, and it will boost your iPod tunes through its large stereo speakers to not inconsiderable volume.
You still have to choose tracks from the iPod, but you can adjust volume as well as bass and treble through the unit itself or through the small supplied remote control.
If you want to take your iPod on the road and share tunes with your friends, or just lay down some mats on a street corner and bring back break dancing, the iM7 is the way of the future.
