3D Brain

3D BRAIN IS A SIMPLE-TO-USE app that enables you to look inside a digital model of the human brain, revealing all the bits and pieces that make you think and feel.

You can focus on any of 29 brain regions, including all the major cortices and lobes, and some that I hadn’t heard of (such as the subiculum, which plays a role in all sorts of things, such as memory, learning and spatial navigation).

There’s a menu of just five options down the right-hand edge. They’re simple and effective – for instance, tap the Info button and you’re given a short text overview (including famous or important case studies) of the brain part being viewed, plus web links to more information and relevant research papers.

My only gripe is that the image resolution is a bit low, but that aside, with 3D Brain you can spend some entertaining and informative moments exercising your grey matter while learning about it too.
