Experts have identified a highly contagious and lethal new viral disease, which infected five people in Africa. With some similarities to Ebola, Lujo may have passed to people from rodents.

I have always said more likely a virus or bacteria will decimate our numbers than an asteriod hitting; however lets make sure we didn't create it.

If we as human animals want to survive on Earth, the only known habitable ball of rock within some light-years distance, then something to thin out our ranks like this new virus could be just the ticket!
You never know, but a virus that wipes out a large proportion of the human population could even make us (the most destructive animal this planet has ever witnessed) think about how to become better stewards of our home.
