Electronic paper can be used for more than just creating digital analogues of books and the like. We're actually only beginning to discover the uses of electronic paper, with it sure to pop up in the most unlikely of places. Like in a watch. One of the unique properties of the electronic paper developed by E Ink is that it is flexible. This means you can bend and warp it into just about any shape. So not only is it ultra-thin and high-contrast, but it can be shaped around a nice snug watchband. The Seiko and E Ink watch is only a prototype at this stage, but interest is already stirring worldwide, so it's only a matter of time before we see electronic paper watches hit the stores. |
