![]() There's a basic rule of thumb when it comes to determining the optimum viewing distance for a widescreen television. Normally 2.5 times the diagonal size of the screen places you at the perfect place for the best viewing experience. Given this, were you to plonk yourself in front of the new Panasonic 103-inch (262-cm) plasma screen, you'd have to sit no less than 6.5 metres away. Not many living rooms are that big. Still, if you have the room to house it, or the eyes to handle it, the 103-inch Panasonic plasma is the king of T.V.s. It's like having four 50-inch plasma screens taped together. The screen has only been previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, so specs are scarce, but we can likely expect the 103-inch behemoth, or its like, over here some time this year. So start saving your pennies. |
