Another recent entrant to the smart phone market in Australia, Dopod is causing quite a stir with its funky 838Pro.

On the surface it might look like another small PDA with a touch screen, but a closer look reveals a concealed QWERTY keyboard.

The 838Pro is no slouch when it comes to connectivity options. It has just about everything you can imagine, from quad-band GSM to the latest 3G technologies, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and infrared.

Other features include full multimedia support for music and video playback, as well as an innovative wireless headset for music. A two-megapixel camera with flash and business card reader rounds things out. It’s not cheap, but it packs an amazing amount of technology into a package that is not much larger than a standard mobile phone.
