If you’re not sure which racing bike to invest your hard earned in, why not take some advice from an expert? Say, Lance Armstrong, record-holding seven-time consecutive winner of the Tour de France? Well, for his final winning ride in 2005 there was only one bike for him, and that was the Trek SSLx. This beast is made almost entirely out of carbon fibre, which makes it incredibly stiff and light — just what you need when it comes to putting on that final burst of speed near the finishing line. But that’s not all. Trek’s engineers added layers of boron to the carbon fibre to supplement the already incredible tensile strength with an equally impressive compressive strength. So why buy a small car when you can have the Tour de France winning bike in your garage? |
