Green mag set for November launch

SYDNEY: Luna Media, publisher of science magazine COSMOS, is venturing into the environmental market with the launch of a new bi-monthly green lifestyle title, G Magazine.

The magazine, set to hit newsstands in November, is outlined as a guide for Australians on how to live a sustainable lifestyle.

Editor Wilson da Silva said there was a large, untapped market of Australians interested in making sustainable lifestyle choices, citing findings from a recent Roy Morgan report.

"More than four in five people in Australia, or 88%, agree that if we don't act now we'll never control our environmental problems," da Silva said.

"G Magazine will provide practical, evidence-based solutions to living a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. It will be a trusted and respected guide to the green consumer landscape."

Da Silva said he has received a lot of interest from potential advertisers involved in environmentally friendly initiatives, from companies such as Westpac and BP to investment firms and fashion outlets.

He said the magazine will ultimately bolster its internal team but that, at present, it will be managed by existing Cosmos staff.
