Old skool gaming

The Quasicade started as a project in Christopher Gerding's garage in 1998 when he decided to recreate the classic arcade gaming experience. Modern consoles, such as the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 are all well and good when enjoyed from the comfort of your sofa, but there's something more authentic when you play it on a classic arcade cabinet.

Enter the Quasicade Pro - a commercial-grade arcade system that hooks up to your gaming console. It features a crisp 68 cm screen for high-definition gaming, and a booming 200-Watt THX stereo sound system to complete the business of alien zapping.

It also includes the custom-designed Quasicon Control Module, which is the business end of the arcade machine. It features more than 20 classic arcade buttons and joysticks to give that truly tactile arcade feel. There's even a small backlit panel that shows how the Quasicade's buttons relate to the buttons on your regular console controller.

Best played with a bag of hot chips and a few 20c coins lined up against the screen.
