Nokia has made a reputation as an innovator in mobile telephony through its experimentation with a wide variety of unique designs. This innovation extends into its business range of phones, with devices such as the E series.

The E61 is the largest in the range, care of the full QWERTY keyboard, giving it a passing resemblance to a BlackBerry.

The keyboard belies the E61’s primary purpose as a mobile email device, and it can connect to a number of push-email services, including BlackBerry Connect. You’re also not short of connectivity options, with just about every GSM and 3G technology supported, along with Bluetooth, WiFi and infrared. Plus, it can handle internet telephony and instant messaging, so you’ll never be out of touch.

The interface differs from the scroll wheel on the BlackBerry, but the big screen makes it easy to see exactly what you’re doing. All up, the Nokia E61 makes a decent alternative to a BlackBerry, and is competitively priced, too.
